"Land ho!" The man in the crow's nest shouted out with urgency. Rizen walkled to ther bow of the ship and stood beside the captain as he surveyed the foreign shores ahead of them. The captain turned to him and motioned towards the land. "Well, lad? Is this the place you were lookin for?" Rizen looked out and breathed deeply for a moment. This place...It was heavy with a scent he had come to know. One he hda been able to detect since meeting her. The scent of dragons. "Yes," he said in a startling baritone, "This is the place." The captain turned to the shore. "You'd best get your things together." When Rizen left another member of the crew wandered over to the captain. "Cap'm, sir," he said in a hurried whisper, "Wha' we gonna do wi' 'im, sir?" The captain thought for a moment, before an evil grin split his face. "Tell the boys to load their pistol's and pick up their cutlasses. We got work ta do..." Rizne walked down to the ship's hold. He looked over his shoulder to make sure he wasn't followed. Satisfied that he was alone he proceeded into the darkness. He walked wotards the aft part of the hold, moving with a purpose, grim determination on his face. He climbed a large stack of crates and dropped down on the other side. "Carbuncle," he said quietly, "Are you awake?" "Yes, I'm awake, Rizen. I'm over here, to your left." He turned to his left and stumbeled forward to embrace the source of the voice. Scales, soft and smooth, bu harder than steel. A sleek, well muscled body. Sharp claws, eagerly returning the embrace along with large, comforting wings. Smaller than most of her kind, but oh, so special. His lips sought, and found, hers. They broke the embrace and Rizen looked deep into her reptillian eyes. "Its time," he said grimly. "Finally," she said with a smile, "Open sky."
"OK, boys," the captain said as he stood poised outside the door to the hold, "When I open the door, kill everything inside. On three. One...Two..." The air was rent by a great bellow, and the horrible sound of tearing wood. "...Three?" The crew, however, was more worried about the gaping hole that Carbuncle had made in the side of the Blood-Filled Chalice as she tore through the wood and took flight. Th ship went down quickly and quietly; the crew were so stunned at what just happened, that they didnt make for life boats until they felty water at their feet. Only a handful survived, exluding the captain. The last thing seen by those unfortunate enough to have not gotten to the longboats was a horse-sized, red flying thing sailing through the air with Rizen on its back.
Carbuncle soard through the air in the direction of what she scented to be a small village, when she felt a pleasing warmth and wetness on her neck, causing her to loose her balance and have to correct. "Rizen," she scolded playfully, "Not till I've landed!" "Sorry," he apologized as he ceased kissing her neck and breathed deeply of her scent; it was intoxicating and addictive, "You know I can't help myself." "Well, you'll have to wait till we're on the ground." "Oh, but you know how I love interesting places. And whats more interesting than the sky?" They both laughed aloud as they headed towards the northern horizon, both hungilry anticipating what was to come...
| So you caught me "snuggling" with Carbuncle last night in a less than flattering position. If your thinking about lecturing me about inter-species affairs...BACK THE F*** OFF!! I've heard enough of that already. |
